An oil-sealed rotary vane pump, sometimes referred to as an oil type vacuum pump, depends on oil for sealing and lubrication. It works by ensnaring gas molecules in a revolving vane assembly, which compresses the gas and forces it out of the pump while simultaneously producing a vacuum.
